Dr. Nir Nissim
Dr. Nir Nissim is a researcher and the Head of the Malware Lab at the Cyber Security Research Center at BGU. In 2016, Dr. Nissim completed his Ph.D. with honors at BGU’s Department of Information Systems Engineering; he received a prestigious prize in recognition of his ranking as the Faculty of Engineering Sciences’ top doctoral student in 2016. During his Ph.D. research, Dr. Nissim won several best paper awards in top ranked scientific international conferences and awards of excellence at BGU, and he was one of the few doctoral students at BGU to win an exclusive doctoral cyber security scholarship granted by the Israeli Cyber Security Bureau. Dr. Nissim published several noteworthy papers dealing with the development of a generic active learning framework aimed at the detection and acquisition of various types of malware in a variety of platforms. Dr. Nissim is recognized as an expert in information systems security and machine learning solutions and has been leading several large-scale research projects in the field, including collaborative projects between academia and industry. His main areas of interests are mobile and computer security, machine learning, and data mining. In addition to his contributions to the cyber security domain, Dr. Nissim is also interested in the biomedical informatics domain, in which he has published number of papers regarding the efficient classification of condition severity. Dr. Nissim is also a lecturer on cyber security and machine learning topics, both in the Information Systems Engineering Department at BGU, as well as in the Industrial Engineering and Management Department at Tel Aviv University. In addition, Dr. Nissim is the Head of the ICSML program, which is an international cyber-security and Machine learning academic and professional program for international students.

Aviad Cohen
Aviad Cohen is a senior security researcher at the Malware-Lab, Cyber Security Research Center (CSRC) at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Aviad began his Ph.D. studies in 2015 in BGU’s Department of Software and Information Systems Engineering. His research is aimed at the development of a multi-layered machine learning based framework for enhancing the security of E-mail eco-system. He is a co-author of several papers dealing with the analysis and detection of malicious non-executable (*.pdf, *.docx), malicious emails and compromised virtual machine. His main areas of interest are cyber security and machine learning.

Eitam Sheetrit
Eitam Sheetrit is a Ph.D. student at BGU’s Department of Information Systems Engineering, conducting his Ph.D. research at the Malware Lab in the domain of advanced malware detection based on temporal abstraction and analysis, including the integration of advanced multivariate patterns. He completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in information systems at the Technion Israel institute of Technology, with the highest honors. Prior to this, Eitam was an officer in the Israeli Navy and served as the head of SAP-PLM. Today, in addition to his research, Eitam is an academic lecturer in business intelligence, data mining, analytics, and ERP, in association with the IBM Academic Initiative and SAP University Alliances.

Carmel Eliash
Carmel Eliash is a student at the master’s program for outstanding students in Industrial Engineering (Business Analytics) at Tel-Aviv University.
Carmel is a researcher at the Cyber-Med project, focusing on ICU (Intensive Care Unit) systems.
Prior to this, Carmel was an Intelligence officer and project manager in the IDF and worked at Advanced Analytics group at Intel.
Carmel is being instructed by both: Prof. Irad Ben-Gal and Dr. Nir Nissim.

Tamar Levy
Tamar Levy is a Researcher in the Cyber-Med project at the Malware Lab, focusing on Personal Medical Devices (PMD) in two domains - Cardiac Implementable Electronic Devices (CIED) and Insulin Pumps.
In her studies, Tamar uses advanced Machine Learning Methods and Tools.
Tamar is studying towards an M.Sc in Data Science at the Industrial Engineering and Management Department of BGU. Prior to this, Tamar was an Intelligence officer at the 8200 Unit of IDF in the cyber domain.

Ido Finder
Ido is currently pursuing B.Sc. (Major in Information systems) and M.Sc. (Data Science) degrees in the "Meitar" program in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at BGU. Ido’s research focuses on malware detection using dynamic analysis and applying Machine Learning and Temporal Analysis algorithms.
Prior to this, Ido worked at Intel as a solution analyst in a IS developing group.

Tom Landman
Tom Landman is a Researcher at Malware Lab, focusing on innovative malware detection methods in Linux-based virtual machines using Deep Learning algorithms.
Tom is studying towards an M.Sc in Data Science at the Industrial Engineering and Management Department of BGU. Tom worked as BI Developer in the ad-tech industry and serves as Operations Officer and Company Commander in the Search & Rescue Unit of the Army Reserves.

Tal Tzafrir
Tal Tzafrir is a researcher at the Malware Lab. Tal is an M.Sc. student at BGU’s Department of Industrial Engineering & Management. His research main domain focuses on efficiently identifying malicious Mp3 & Mp4 files using advanced machine learning methods and tools. After completing his B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering & Management at BGU on 2017, Tal has joined a BI & Fraud team as an analyst in an international ad-tech company, until his recent joining on early 2019 to the Malware Lab.

Trivikram Muralidharan
Trivikram Muralidharan is a researcher at the Malware Lab and an M.Sc. student at BGU’s Department of Industrial Engineering & Management. He was a participant in the renowned ICSML program in the batch of 2018 as an international student from India. His research mainly focuses on Temporal Dynamic Analysis using hardware features for the purpose of finding malware. After completing his B.Tech. in Computer Science in 2019, Trivikram worked as a data scientist at Kaleidofin, a fin-tech startup, until his recent joining in late 2019 to the Malware Lab. Trivikram also focuses on ethical hacking during his free time and has also been mentioned in Google's honorable mentions list for discovering security vulnerabilities in google's products.

Gil Shenderovitz
Gil’s research focuses on Temporal Analysis and Machine Learning algorithms both in the medical and cyber domains.
Gil is currently pursuing B.Sc. (Major in Information systems) and M.Sc. (Data Science) degrees in the "Meitar" program in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at BGU.
Prior to this, Gil was a commander in the IAF’s electronic warfare squadron.

Itzik Gurowiec is a researcher at the Malware Lab, focusing on Sound-Based emotion and Mental-State detection and their security aspects, Using Machine Learning methods. Itzik is studying towards an M.Sc in Data Science at the Industrial Engineering and Management Department of BGU.

Dor Zazon
Dor Zazon is a Researcher in the Nero-Science project at the Malware Lab, currently on his 3rd year of B.Sc. at Industrial engineering and management, and will start masters in data science next year. His study focus on inferencing meaningful information from EEG brain scan by using deep learning and dynamic analysis algorithms.

Itay Rosh
Itay Rosh is a Researcher at the Malware Lab, focusing both on maintain the malware repository module and the field of Genetic Algorithms. Itay takes part in Psagot, an Excellence Program for the intense education and then utilization of elite IDF recruits chosen to be elite R&D engineers. Itay is currently studying for a B.Sc in Software Engineering and for a M.Sc in Cyber Space security in BGU.

Ofir Landau
Ofir Landau is a researcher at the Malware Lab, focusing on leveraging brain waves for cyber
security challenges. Ofir takes part in an IDF program called Psagot, and is currently studying
for B.Sc in Software Engineering and M.sc in Cyber Space Security.

Assaf Cohen
Assaf is a Cyber security researcher at the Malware Lab. Assaf has conducted his first degree in IT management at Ben Gurion University and will begin is Masters next year. Assaf’s research is focused on static and dynamic malware analysis.

Ori Or-Meir
Ori Or-Meir is a masters student at Ben Gurion university, majoring in Cyber Security. His research focuses on malware detection using dynamic analysis tools and applying Machine Learning algorithms to improve detection rates and reduce the amount of resources needed.
He also works as a security developer in Cynet, an Israeli startup which provide cyber security services to enterprises worldwide.

Shay Elroy
Shai Elroy is a researcher in the Cyber-Med project at the Malware Lab, focusing on defending against cyber attacks involving medical protocols and standards. Shai completed his B.Sc in software engineering and is currently working on his masters degree in Cyber Space Security at BGU. This is done as part of the fast track for excellent software engineering students (known as "Meitar").
